GRAPHIC DESIGN
STONE CRAFT HARD CIDER
This logo and product mock-up was a commission for a college friend of mine. He recently began brewing his own hard cider and asked me if I would design a logo that he could use on bottles, beer glasses and t-shirts.
Here are some samples of the different designs that I mocked up for him.
Reference Photo
Below is the reference photo that inspired the design.

My friend has held onto this stone since middle school, due to the sentimental value it holds for him. It was also the inspiration behind the name of the hard cider he now brews.

Rendering the Logo
My friend and I are both big fans of unique packaging designs, especially for beer bottles and cans. Inspired by a more rustic and old-timey look, I wanted to stylize the stone to look like it could have been carved into a 19th century pub sign or printed from a woodblock carving.

Using a technique in Photoshop that I had applied to a previous project, I was able to create a scratchboard effect that made the stone look as if it had been engraved.

Bottle Mock-Ups
I then designed several mock-up bottle labels in Photoshop, where I established a color palette and font set. My friend also requested that I revise the stone logo to include the cut-out of a tree branch to give the silhouette more visual interest.

Final Packaging Mock-Up
After addressing a few other notes, I put together the final design mock-up for the bottle labels. I also included the font options offered to my friend at the beginning of the design process, as well as the color swatches used.

Final Printed Design
After sending the completed design package, my friend suprised me with an photo of the logo printed onto a beer glass!
